Cherry Forest
The Cherry Forest is a remote island located far out into the Ocean and accessible by Boat, Woodie's weregoose form, starting the game as Wirlywings, or rarely, the Telelocator Staff. Most of the mod content is located here.
The Cherry Forest consists of 6 different Biomes :
- The Gardens, separated in 2 distinct places. One including the Cherry Stone Set Piece and several Stone Roots, and one including the Daylily Set Piece, many Ponds and local vegetation like Gooseberry Bushes.
- The Riversides, 5 micro-islands (or river surrounded forests) with various plants such as Saplings, Cheerfull Trees and Wild Rose Bushes. They all contain at least one Stone Root.
- The Cheerful Village, often merged by the Riversides, spawn with many Cheerful Trees, a Hollow Stump, some Saplings and a large lake Set Piece.
- The Rose Thickets, with plenty Wild Rose Bushes and Beehives infected by Ivyscus.
- The Groves, which surround most of the island, populated with a variety of randomly generated set pieces that includes a dense amount of plants and structures.
- A small Forest, containing a tier 3 Spider Den.
Cherry Trees and all sorts of plants such as Bloomshrooms and more are spread around the island in various densities based on the different biomes and present Set Pieces. The island also includes a large set of endemic creatures as well as reskins of certain world spread plants :
- Saplings and Grass
- Stone Roots (Gold Veined Boulders)
- Finches and Catbirds (Birds)
- Cherry Shrimps (Wobsters)
- Fairyflies (Fireflies)
- Tomatoes (Carrots)
Options
It is possible to configure the Cherry Forest generation type, size and content in the world generation panels and mod configurations:
- The default generation type is "Island", generating a large island as described in this page.
- The "Mainland" setting will generate the Cherry Forest among the rest of the world, however the biomes content will be moderately different.
- The "Grove" setting generate a much smaller island, which detaches into a few parts.
- The "Archipelago" setting splits the entire island into dozens of fragments, making it a difficult start for Wirlywings players but also a pretty exotic looking location for experimented builders.
The mod options also include the ability to generate new pairs of Wormholes to spawn one within the Cherry Island and the other somewhere. A Retrofit option is also available if you want to add the Cherry Forest into an already created world.
Tips
- Players can use similar methods to the Lunar Island to find the Cherry Forest, but the method tend to be a little less reliable because of the island formation.
- Playing as Wirlywings will make the player spawn under the Cherry Stone located in the Cherry Forest, it is recommanded to use Flares in multiplayer to share the island location. Player can also change Wirlywings spawn in the mod option.
- Because of the resources available around, it should be easy enough to make a well equipped boat with wheel, anchor and mast from the island directly.
Trivia
- The Cherry Forest island tend to generate in a peculiar way that make it look like a large tree when properly oriented (or artichoke, according to some players).
- The lore of the island and its character / mobs is currently unrevealed but established. The revelations and stories will come out at a certain time by the help of external projects.
