Cherry Trees are found all around of the Cherry Forest. They are the main source of Cherries and Cherry Blossoms. Contrary to other trees, they only yield the previous items based on the tree stage and seasons while getting chopped instead of when they fall down.

Only adult Cherry Trees drop cherries, with a chance of double-cherries, they start to yield blossoms on medium stage, but all stages will often leave Grounded Petals behind when chopped and once cut, which can be latter dug with shovels to obtain a large amount of Petals, some Twigs and also rarely, blossoms, making all tree stage technically capable of producing those.

Players can grow their own Cherry Trees anywhere by directly planting a cherry in the ground.

Cheerful Trees are a variant of Cherry Trees that appear to be partially petrified, they don't produce cherries but Cherrylings instead which will go out by themselves during dusk and night and return home at day. Adult Cheerful Trees will grow a Cherryling every day until they host 3 of them. Cutting a Cheerful Trees will make all its Cherrylings fall from it and will remain homeless. The adult state also last forever instead of regrowing like most trees.

Chopping Cheerful Trees allows collection of Cheerful Blossoms, drop chance for items on chop is the same as fully bloomed Cherry Trees all year round (30%), they also make their own grounded petals with a chance to make extra Cheerful Blossoms when dug.

They have similar loots to Cherry Trees but the stump drops rocks.

To grow a Cheerful Tree, players need to plant a Cherry Gem which are sometime produced by Cherrylings.

Seasons will impact the chance for a Cherry Tree to yield an item when chopped :

  • Early Spring : 20%
  • Spring : 30%
  • Summer : 20%
  • Autumn : 10%
  • Winter : 0%

Adult Cherry Trees located in the Cherry Forest have 30% to be occupied by a group of 1-5 Finches when the conditions are met, when these trees are chopped for the first time, they will fly away and eventually leave a Royal Feather floating in the wind behind them.

Flying Petal.png Flying Petals

Cherry Trees leave lots of petals behind that fly away in the wind, they change of density, style and direction according to the wind, season and weather. The petals are mostly decorative and offer an unique atmosphere that can be located anywhere by planting multiple trees.

There is no petals while it rains or in caves. Spring has by far the largest amount of flying petals and it will keep decreasing through the seasons to almost never during Winter.

The petals are also highly flammable and will also be set on fire if their tree is, the rare ones that spawn especially low may spread fire to another object but the chance is peculiarly low.

Cherry and Cheerful Trees are important to the Cherry Forest ecosystem, many actions toward them will increase or decrease the player's reputation to a small scale but can escalate quickly over time.

Prototype.png Tips

  • Cherry Trees fully bloom (highest yield on chop chance) at the second half of Spring.
  • If left unbothered for a whole day, Cherry Trees will reset their chopping progress on the following day, allowing efficient Blossoms collection from the same Cherry and Cheerful Tree farm, this is especially useful on the latest as they don't loop their growing states to reset the work done like other standard trees would.
  • Inefficient chopping methods such as using the Wooden Axe from the Dayliling Bud or by cutting the trees as Wes allows an even more reliable collection of cherries and blossoms.
  • It is possible to obtain blossoms from trees during Winter despise them being frozen which prevent items and petals from falling, the petals will still fall when the tree is cut down and can be dug to drop eventual blossoms.
